I'm the only person here with this song you idiot.
Obvious winner.
This track is the obvious king of the DnB portal. Anyone who says otherwise is a total clown.
I burned this to a CD and now I rock it in the car, all my friend love it (and we're all ravers and ex-ravers).
This was really cool!
The overall mix needed a little brightening and balance, and you loose points on effort simply because you filed it under the wrong genre, this track would be more appropriate under "Industrial".
That being said, this has early Trent Reznor written all over it, which made me drool all over myself (sober, too)! I love the little solo when it gets to be a little remnant of a Sonic the Hedgehog background track (that's probably just me, I'm sure it wasn't intended). I'd like to see more!
I'm not too great with genre labeling :P As for the "Sonic," part, no it wasn't intended, but it does sound a little bit like that.
On another note, NIN rocks :D Thanks for the review.
A fun little track.
It did leave me wondering though..."Where's the bass?"
It really had a very "tin can" sound to it, but that was the only problem. Hey some like it high and gritty *shrug*. Throw a little EQ to it and it's good to go.
ChocloMan zero bombed the completed NG Edit, so please review that one instead. Thanks anyways!
Skillz.
You, sir, are award winning.
I think it's only appropriate for your 1st review
That shit was ill.
That is all.
A little late response, but it's never too late to say thank you.
Again, LOTS of potential here.
I liked the mood change, but the squelchy bassline (sounded like a 303) didn't seem to fit so well with the mood. It almost had a kind of loop feel to it, like you had a sample of a bassline and just put drums with it, although I'm sure that is not the case.
The effects where good though, again use compression to bring the drums out more. Heavy compression on the drums with a long release can "flatten" them and make them sound huge and loud, and a quick release time can make them "pop" and cut out of the mix. Especially for the intro, quick punchy drums are obviously the sound you where looking for, and would work quite well.
Good stuff!
once again: thanx for the revieuw, i like it.
some info that i can use.
i'll check your songs later this day ( i am at school now =C )
This shows potential.
OK, I'll be blunt here: This did not go over well as a quality production. However, I can say that from my own early days as a producer, you seem to know what you want to get out of your production and lack the experience to get there, and for that, I applaud you.
The rolling bassline showed promise to the idea that you understand quite well the concepts of Drum N Bass/Jungle as they stand today, it had a very techstep type feel to it. The break (the ever obligatory Amen) was appropriate but it was not hard hitting enough, uncompressed and unexciting. The lead synth was a bit over the top in terms of being part of the mix, drop the gain down a little. It was also a little frantic, and it sounded as though you where relying on it to give the song the extra "panic" it needed, if you will.
The overall mix could have had some chorus effects sprinkled in lightly to add a bit of dimension to it, and it could have used some compression and reverb as well, but these are all things you learn as you go, so I hope you don't take all this as trashing your tracks.
KEEP PRODUCING. You have an ear for this, and you can only get better from here!
well now , that's a revieuw that i need ^.^ , some critisism ( wrong spelling ), i like it....
i know that you are right, i might make a updated version of this song, becouse it don't have final touch feeling.
anywayz, thanks for your review =)
Not bad...
...however, for Drum n Bass, it's basically a big long intro. Where are the beats? This perhaps should be filed under "Ambient"
Just kinda picked a category, I try to let me music speak for itself. Too bad the max size is so small though, I have a lot of awesome music that can't be shortened, already exported and deleted.
Excellent!
I'm a tough critic, I know, but I wish more NG Drum N Bass would get it right. This track here...you got it right. This is an awe-inspiring, dreamy, orchestrated DnB track, structured well, layered well, the sample choice is excellent. You sir, kick ass.
haha, thanks!! :D One of the genres im really trying to become good as is infact DnB, but i do try to mix it in with orcestrall aswell. I really tink electronica and orcestral belong together on so many levels :D
New tracks coming soon!
